Rose Marie Wells Williams (nee Wells), affectionately known as "Recie" to family and friends, was born on November 9, 1962, in Evanston, Illinois to parents Gladys Wells Johnson (Roger Johnson) and Robert Wells Sr. (Joanne Hill). Rose was the youngest of the family and was raised alongside Ray Clark, Charles Wells (Tammy Pickard), Janice Moseley (Louis Moseley) and Robert Wells Jr.
Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Recie was a student of district 65 from the time she was in elementary and high school and would eventually migrate to Chicago in her early adulthood and relocated to the Bloomington Normal area in 2018 where she was called home after a short but challenging battle with breast cancer on January 24, 2024.
Recie was known as a strong, devoted, and caring mother to her children Zykeyla, Zyniesha, Anthony; bonus children; Robyn, Cecilia, Cynthia, Juan and Deion Jr and a host of honorary children. In August 1990 Rose married her best friend and the love of her life; Deion Williams and last year they celebrated 33 years of marriage.
Rose gave her life to Christ in the late 90s / early 2000s and was baptized at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church which Rev. R, L Richardson presided. Rose was also on the Usher board. It was also during this time that Rose began focusing more on continuing her education and enrolled in Harry S. Truman City College.
In 2021 Rose earned her Associate at Heartland Community College and pursued her bachelor's graduating from Illinois State University for Criminal Justice in May 2023.
In addition to being an incredible wife, and doting mother to her children, Recie had a profound love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Lily Mae, Juma, Juliana, AJ, Leilani, Lola, Miabella, Jahsoni, Langston, Nyaela Rose, whom she all leaves behind to cherish her loving memory.
Rose was a fighter, and phenomenal woman indeed, and will always remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who loved her. Reecie was preceded in death by her mother Gladys and father Robert, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
