I n M a y 1966 , R o b e r t j o i n e d t h e U n i t e d S t a t e s A r m y a n d s e r v e d f a i t h f u ll y f o r t w o y e a r s , r e c e i v i n g a n h o n o r a b l e d i s c h a r g e i n M a y o f 1968 . H e w e n t o n t o a tt e n d G r a m b li n g U n i v e r s i t y i n L o u i s i a n a , w h e r e h e p l a y e d f oo t b a ll a n d r e c e i v e d a n Associate's Degree. I n J un e o f 1975 , R o b e r t m o v e d t o C h i c a g o , I L . H e h a d a p ass i o n f o r d r i v i n g , so naturally h i s c a r ee r as a b u s d r i v e r w i t h t h e C h i c a g o T r a n s i t A u t h o r i t y (CTA) began. He drove the bus with pride, bringing joy to all who stepped onto his bus. Robert won the CTA Bus Rodeo at Soldier Field multiple years. Winning multiple domestic and international vacations and affording him the opportunity to throw the first pitch at a Chicago White Sox game. He retired as a supervisor from the CTA after Twenty-Six (26) years of faithful service and enjoyed over 25 years of retirement.
