Larry "Tank" Harris was born on May 1,1951 in Chicago, IL, and was a man of strength, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
From humble beginnings, he grew into a pillar of his family and community, embodying resilience, love, and dignity throughout his lif e.

A loving husband to Dorajean and a devoted father to his son, Sean, Larry cherished his family deeply. Larry was married to
Dorajean Veasley Harris for 52 years. Their life together was built on partnership, great respect, and a deep love for family.
Together, they created a warm and loving home and welcomed a son whose life was centered on love, laughter and unwavering support. One of Larry's greatest joys was being called "Pops" by the one he loved so dearly, and spending time with his one and only son. He took pride in being a provider, protector, and source of guidance, always striving to lead with love, patience and integrity. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and stability to those closest to him.

Professionally, he worked for the Village of Skokie for 25 years, where he was respected for his dedication and integrity. He believed in hard work, faith in God, and lifting others as he climbed. Whether through his words of wisdom, his laughter, his quiet acts of kindness, or simply showing up when it mattered most, he left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him.

In his younger years, Larry attended the Apostolic Church of God in Evanston, Illinois, where his grandfather, Rev. Joseph Ingram, served as pastor. Later in life, he joined and faithfully attended Living Word Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Bill Winston. Larry found joy in church and carried himself with a spirit that reflected grace and perseverance. His life was a testimony of God's goodness and mercy. Larry lived out his faith through kindness, consistency, and a genuine care for others. He was always willing to listen, encourage, and offer support wherever there was a need.

To his family, Larry was a ROCK -steady, loving and dependable. He showed up, offered wise counsel when needed, and led by example. His laughter, patience, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Larry's legacy is found not only in the relationships he built, but in the lessons he shared. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Harris, and mother, Emmaline Ingram. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Dorajean Veasley Harris; his son, Sean Harris; his brothers, Roy Houston (Sandra) and Klein Harris; his niece, Diette Houston; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in knowing that his spirit has returned to the Lord. His legacy of love, faith, and strength will live on.
