On the evening of April 30, 2024, Dorothy Maxine Harris went on to glory at the blessed age of 92 years old.

Dorothy was born in Chicago, Illinois to Arkail and Collie Mae Saulsbury in September 1931. Through the years, she remained in Evanston, where she married Clarence Harris and together raised three children: Duane, Keith, and Sheldon.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father Arkail, her mother Collie Mae, her husband Clarence, and two of her sons, Duane and Keith. She is survived by her son, Sheldon (Andrea) who tirelessly cared for her with love and support, and their children: Alex, Marissa, and Meghan. Additionally, Dorothy is survived by her sister, Daisy, and an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she deeply adored. Her nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends and relatives also mourn her passing, having been touched by her grace and warmth.

A public visitation will be held from 9:00am to 10:30am on May 8th, 2024 at Sherman United Methodist Church in Evanston, Illinois. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life service and succeeding burial at Sunset Memorial Lawns in Northbrook, Illinois.

To honor her, we kindly ask that you bring purple or white flowers, or consider wearing purple attire to the service, as it held a special place in Dorothy's heart.
