Oct 5, 1938 — Aug 9, 2022
Dorothy Lee Fowler was born in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina October 5, 1938 and made her transition on August 9, 2022, after a lengthy bout with cancer.
Dorothy grew up singing in the choir which is where she met our Dad, Stephen Q. Fowler Sr., at Carey Tercentenary Church.
Dorothy had a beautiful soprano voice. Some of her favorite songs were "I Really Love the Lord" which she sang so beautifully with her daughter Dawn at Ebenezer Church. She also sang Summertime; Amazing Grace and her favorite was "This Little Light of Mine". Dorothy was also a lover of jazz music.
Dorothy had a tender heart with a child-like sense of adventure and really enjoyed going to different art fairs and musical events throughout the city alone or with one or all of her children.
Dorothy worked as an Aide at Dunbar Vocational High School and Niles North High School for much of her life.
Dorothy
leaves to cherish her memories: four daughters, Melissa, Wanda, Linda, and Dawn, and one son, Stephen, Jr. Her grandchildren are Antoinette and Antonio. A host of relatives on mom's side: her sister Barbara Wilson; niece, Denise, nephews Kyle and Arthur, and many others on dad's side of the family too
lengthy to list.
