Debra Jean Jenkins, age 59 of Waukegan, Illinois went home to be with the lord on December 25, 2023. Debra was born in Waukegan, Illinois to Primey Collins Sr. and Cordia Mae Collins on April 4, 1964.

Debra was raised on the west side of Waukegan and was well known to those in the community.  Debra attended WaukeganPublic Schools. Debra loved to play sports as she was part of the volleyball and women's basketball team. She was truly loved by her classmates and teammates. Debra was a joyful spirit who enjoyed time with family and friends.

Debra spent a lot of time with her favorite Uncle Glen Holden.  Her family and friends will always remember her for being the life of family gatherings.

Debra leaves to cherish her memory her four (4) children whom she adored: Monique Jenkins of Zion, IL; Jessie Jenkins of Duluth, GA; Primica (Richard) Hill of Zion, IL and Tyrone Hoy Jr. of Waukegan, IL  16 grandchildren; J'veontae Thompson, Jahmal Thompson, Jamariona Thompson, Layloni Jenkins, LaDon Jenkins, Naftle Jenkins, Jaxon Jenkins, Na'vah Black, Tyris McClinton, Tyrone Hoy, III, Izaria Hoy, Izaveon Hoy, Ileeya Hoy, Izaniya Hoy, Cameron Hoy, and Ethan Hoy. (7)  siblings: Barbara Marshall of AR, James Dotson, of MI, Jeanette Chamblis of IL, Calvin Hayes of CO, LaTanya (Emory) Tanner Of IL, Evette Hayes of WI, and Octavia Davis, of IL.

Debra was proceeded in death by her parents Primey Collins Sr. and Cordia Mae Collins. Grand Parents Fred Collins, Willie Mae Holden, Lonnie and Ardessa Marshall (2) brothers; Eric Moore, and Primey Collins Jr. (7) Aunts Jennie Watkins, Jannie Brown,Elizabeth Robinson, Idella Marshall, Velma Sweeney, Augusta Edmond, and Mary Lee Williams. (5) uncles John Ira Young, Bennell Marshall, Lonnie Marshall, Scott Collins Sr, and Charles Harris.

GOD'S GARDEN

God Looked around his garden.

And He found an empty place.

He then looked down upon the Earth,

And saw your tired Face.

He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.

God's garden must be beautiful.

He always takes the best.

He Knew you were suffering,

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never,

Get well on Earth Again.

He Saw the road was getting rough,

And the hills were hard to climb,

So, he closed your weary eyelids,

And whispered, "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you didn't go alone,

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.
