Dan Alfonso Harris Sr. was born on August 16, 1930 on Montgomery, Alabama to the union of John Wesley Harris and Josie Mae Harris.

He accepted Jesus Christ in his life at young age.

Dan later met Effie Crawford and she became his childhood sweetheart. They got married in 1949 and had 3 children in Alabama, then in 1953 they moved to Evanston Illinois where they had 2 more children together. In Illinois he held various positions and eventually became a truck driver.

In 1970 Dan and Effie ended their marriage in divorce and Dan moved to Passaic New Jersey where he later met his wife Floydia Williamson. In New Jersey Dan worked as a truck driver until he retired. In between that time, Dan became a master Mason in Oct 1975 and served as a faithful member of silver start lodge No. 45. He also became an Eastern Star.

Over the years he enjoyed going to church, listening to gospel music, playing dominoes, singing in a choir, and spending time with the ones he loved.

Dan departed this earth on Friday, June 16, 2023, after battling coronary heart disease. He is proceeded in death by his parents Josie Heard & John Harris, his wife Floydia Harris, his oldest daughter Loleeta McBride, and his granddaughter Naomi McBride (daughter of Loleeta).

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: four of his children Dan Harris Jr, Lamont Harris, Margaret Fisher and Albert Harris. Grandchildren Katherine McBride, Tammy Carter, Effie McBride, Nefertiti McBride, Kashan Harris, and Wesley Harris. Great grandchildren and a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
