Obituary

Allen M Austin Jr. affectionately known as "Nook" went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2023 following a battle with pancreatic/ liver cancer.  Allen confessed Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the early age of 7 years old. After graduating from Waukegan East High School in 1989. Allen joined the Army Airborne Reserve to serve his country and was honorably discharged in 1997. At the prime age of 21, Allen began a career at Abbott Laboratories in which he was employed for over 31 plus years. Allen was one of the original members of the second generation Gospel Quartet Group called GrandMomma Boys. He was an AVID Chicago Bears Fan. Anyone who loved Allen knew of his huge heart and how much he cared about others. His family was the most important thing in his life. Some of his many passions in life were sports, music concerts and cruising on a ship while enjoying the beautiful scenery and culture of the Caribbean. His final resting place will be in the waters surrounding Paradise Island Punta Rucia, Dominic Republic.

Allen was proceeded in death by his fathers Allen O Austin, Frederick Hill Sr. Sisters Willie Lee (Austin) Walker, Lilly Riley, Jacqueline Johnson. Brother Michael Dawkins. Grandparents James and Willie Mae Pipes, Walter Sr. and Laura Franklin.

Allen was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Allen leaves to cherish his memories his wife Exlean Hunt, loving mother Jerutha Hill, children Allen M. Austin lll, Aarias Austin, Autry J.J. Austin, Azariah M Austin. Love children Nakia (Marcus) Proctor and Terrance(Victoria)Tompkins. GodSon Michael (Annik) Caston. Sisters Sylvia Pipes, Bridgette Haynes, Donna Dawkins, Patricia (Joshua) Abayomi, Carolyn Johnson. Two brothers Willie Austin and Melvin (Wilma) Pipes. A host of Aunties, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He has been blessed with four Grandchildren. Allen lV, Kaiden, Aaliyah and Aria Austin.

Allen developed a special lifelong Friendship with Dwayne L. Greathouse. The Greatest Best Friend a man could ever ask for.
He also had close special relationships with cousins Paul M Floyd, Marvin Hickman, Joseph Pipes and Toni Tatum.
Allen also shared sibling ship with Lorena Jones, Gertrude Hill, Rickiann Hill, William Miller and Frederick Hill Jr..
