Albert Lee
Aka. "Peter" Gibbs
Feb 26, 1952 — Aug 23, 2025
Chicago
Albert Lee (Peter) Gibbs
Albert Lee "Peter" Gibbs was born on February 26, 1952, to Elizabeth Logan Gibbs and John Frank Gibbs, who both preceded him in death.
Peter was raised in Evanston, Illinois, where he attended the Evanston School District. He later pursued legal studies at John Marshall Law School.
From a young age, Peter had a passion for music. He began playing instruments around the age of ten and also loved to sing. He was a proud member of the group The Modasations, where he poured his heart into every performance.
If you knew Peter, you knew he always had something to say. He believed he was always right, insisted on having the last word, and could talk your ears off-whether you listened or not. Yet, he was deeply loved for his vibrant personality and his ability to make connections with people everywhere he went.
Peter's musical journey led him to play for Mt. Pisgah Church under the leadership of Rev. Clifford Wilson. He loved being part of the church's music ministry and too joy in keeping others updated on everything happening there.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters, Sandra Gibbs of Evanston and Carol Sherard of Tucker, GA; two brothers, Fe'loy Gibbs of Marietta, GA, and Felipe Gibb: of Durham, NC; a very special cousin, Bryon Lewis of Evanston, who stood faithfully by his side; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him with love.
